More and more pros are switching to Haxe so it’s becoming a viable competitor, but my next project (Rebuild 3)’s going to be Stage3D/Starling again. I don’t use any other frameworks but can recommend either Flixel or FlashPunk which are both pretty easy for beginners.

Sarah, is there a framework you normally use to develop your non-Stage3D games? Something you would recommend to somebody new to AS3?

I have been looking into Haxe recently, as well, but it seems that the environment is not mature enough, since professionals like you are still not using it.
